John Boyd West studied at the prestigious California Institute of the Arts -CalArts.  From there he's worked in many feature films such as "Deep Cover" w/ Jeff Goldblum as well as the Grand Jury Prize Winner at the Sundance Film Festival  "Forty Shades of Blue" w/ Rip Torn He has also appeared in many television series including  "Quantum Leap" "Tour of Duty" "Reasonable Doubt" "Magnum P.I."   "Elvis the mini-series"  and most recently as Melvin in the Peabody award-winning tv series  "Rectify"
